I, along with all other RECIT consultants, are getting lots of questions about Smartboards and SMART Technology, in particular training.
For those of you who would like some basic training, it might be best to check out some youtube videos or even the SMART website first rather than waiting for me to visit schools or any other PD session. The basic use is fairly easy. So, you can youtube any number of videos on the topic. One series I have found to be good can be found in this link:

The next thing you should have is the Notebook software. This is a very powerful piece of software that allows users to use your computer to interact with the Smartboard. Mostly, imagine it as an interactive version of powerpoint. You will need an activation code, which your IT department can provide, and if you are having issues getting it, let me know. It is also a good idea to join the Smart Exchange, a site that lets members share presentations made in just about any area of education. You can find many resources here rather than having to create your own material.
