What is RECIT?
The acronym “RÉCIT” means “A network of
REsource people for the development of
Competencies using
Information and communication
Technologies.”
According to the Ministry of Education, each school board appoints a resource person to facilitate its local RÉCIT service at the elementary and secondary levels. Facilitators provide ICT training and support for teachers and help them test and carry out learning projects with students.
RECIT is a network of professionals at both the regional and the provincial levels. Read more about the RÉCIT Ministry Orientations here.![]()

About Me
Hi everyone, for those of you who don’t know me, I guess a little background knowledge is called for. I grew up in Sydney, Australia, where I completed my B.Ed. in Secondary Mathematics and Computer Science at Sydney University. I worked for 8 years teaching these two subjects in several schools across Sydney before meeting my now wife and immigrating to Quebec in 2001.
I was fortunate enough to find Metis Beach School in need of a Mathematics teacher upon my arrival, and given the school was the only English institution in and around Matane, I was very grateful to have found a position in my field in English, given my non-existent knowledge of French. Over the years I found myself teaching a variety of subjects, including Mathematics, various Sciences, Physical Education, Moral Education, Technology, etc., all in that small school environment in ESSB that I have grown to love.
In February, 2006, I took over the reins of Metis Beach School as a teacher/principal, in a time of great change. I feel privileged to have worked with a staff who have to built the school into what can only be described as a very dynamic and engaging school to work in.
I now look forward to meeting and working with all the teachers across Eastern Shores’s district in what I hope will be a rewarding experience for everyone, especially our students!
